The Retrofit High Rib Range is available in 3 heights - 10mm, 20mm and 50mm and 3 lengths - short (280mm), medium (550mm) and long (750mm). All our ribs will fit exisiting parallel and tapered ribs of 13mm or less.
The most popular question we are asked is "which length Rib should I choose?".
The most important factor is whether you would prefer to have a full length rib to mirror your existing sight picture or a shorter version. We are finding that most shooters are showing a preference to a full length rib as there is less distraction and is similar to your existing sight picture except on a higher plane.
The next influencial factor is the length of your barrels. The long length creates a full length rib for barrels of 28-32''.
If you do not require a full length rib or if cost is an issue then we have introduced the medium and short ribs which simply fit on the end of your barrels and elevates your sight picture to the required height. The short and medium ribs will fit on any length of barrels. The choice between a medium and short rib is simply a matter a preference.
We will be adding a gallery of pictures to illustrate the different lengths and sight pictures shortly.
We have carried out research into the principle of point of aim adjustments which can be found on other manufacturers high rib products and even to our initial surprise have concluded that they are not necessary.
Clearly this means that on our High Rib products there is less to fiddle with, eliminating the psychological stress which can affect a shooter during competition.
You will need to raise your comb by the same height as the new High Rib in order to retain the same point of aim that you currently have.
